Help Patients of This Progressive Disorder During a Walk Fueling a Specific Mission
Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease. Now, it’s Louisiana’s turn! Take part in the fight to help end Alzheimer's Disease on Saturday, September 22nd at Highland Road Park.
Alzheimer's disease is a progressive disorder that causes brain cells to waste away (degenerate) and die. Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia — a continuous decline in thinking, behavioral and social skills that disrupts a person's ability to function independently.
When you participate in Walk, your fundraising dollars fuel our mission, and your participation in the event helps to change the level of Alzheimer’s awareness in your community. The Alzheimer’s Association provides free, easy-to-use tools and staff support to help participants reach their fundraising goal. The Alzheimer's Association is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.
While there is no fee to register, we encourage participants to fundraise in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness. Join us and lead the way to Alzheimer's first survivor. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease! Register online now at www.act.alz.org.
While we provide plenty of on-site entertainment at The Palms at Juban Lakes Apartments in Denham Springs, Louisiana, we believe that having fun within your larger community is equally as important. Do just that during this event on Saturday!
